Adams and Imraan appointed as South Africas high performance bowling and batting leads

High-performance bowling and hitting leaders were appointed by Adams and Khan.

JOHANNESBURG: Paul Adams and Imraan Khan have been named as the respective High Performance Bowling and Batting Leads by Cricket South Africa (CSA), with effect from September 1.

Since 2023, Adams—a former Proteas spinner who participated in 45 Test matches and 24 One-Day Internationals—has been the SA U19s Men's and SA Emerging Men's spin bowling coach. He has also helped the South Africa A team in the past.

The 47-year-old has had prominent stints as a local coach with the Cape Cobras, leading the Western Province team to five titles in all three formats from 2012 to 2016. More recently, he served as the Eastern Cape Iinyathi's Division 2 coach.

Khan won the One-Day Cup in 2019–20 and the 4-Day Domestic Series twice while leading the Hollywoodbets Dolphins for five seasons. The following season, he shared the 50-over honors with the DP World Lions. In addition, he guided the KZN Coastal team to three T20 Challenge championships.

The forty-year-old, who participated in one Test match and 333 domestic matches overall, has also advised South Africa's batsmen on batting strategy for the Proteas Men's Test team during their current two-match series against the West Indies and their recent trip of New Zealand.

"Imraan's accomplishments with the Hollywoodbets Dolphins and his most recent work as a batting advisor to the Proteas Men's Test team show that he is a very skilled leader and player development specialist. We have no doubt that he will provide a new perspective to our High Performance program."
