For the National Team's fixtures against South Africa and New Zealand, the Afghanistan Cricket Board has named R. Sridhar as assistant coach.
Indian Rama Krishna Sridhar has been appointed Assistant Coach of the Afghanistan Cricket Team for the next three-match ODI series against South Africa and one-off test match against New Zealand, according to the Afghanistan Cricket Board.
In domestic cricket, 54-year-old Sridhar has participated in 35 First Class and 15 List A matches for India.
In more than 300 international games, including two ICC ODI and two T20I world championships, he has served as the fielding coach for the Indian national side. In the Indian Premier League, he worked as the spin bowling coach for Kings XI Punjab from 2014 to 2017.
Sridhar is a Level-3 qualified coach who has worked as both an assistant coach and a spin bowling coach for the Indian U19 national team. Sridhar worked as an assistant fielding and spin bowling coach at the National Cricket Academy of India from 2008 to 2014.
It is important to note that Sridhar has been named assistant coach by the Afghanistan Cricket Board for the three-match ODI series against South Africa and the one-off Test against New Zealand. The Afghanistan Cricket Board hopes to have a long-term deal with Sridhar and hopes he performs well in his capacity.
