Afghanistan Cricket Board | Squads Named for the X-Bull Energy Shpageeza Cricket League

The national selection committee of the Afghanistan Cricket Board has selected the squads for the five regional teams that will compete in the 9th edition X-Bull Energy Shpageeza Cricket League 2024, Presented by Etisalat, which will take place in Kabul Province on August 12th.

In the 21-day X-Bull Energy Shpageeza Cricket League 2024, Presented by Etisalat, Afghanistan's T20I skipper Rashid Khan, ODI and Test captain Hashmatullah Shahidi, T20I vice-captain Ibrahim Zadran, ODI vice-captain Rahmat Shah, and young, talented fast-bowling all-round player Azmatullah Omarzai have been named captains of the Speenghar Tigers, Band-e-Amir Dragons, Mis-e-Ainak Knights, Bost Defenders, and Amo Sharks, respectively. A final on August 25 will follow the double-round robin format in which each team plays the other twice.

The squads for the five teams taking part in SCL9 are as follows:

Speenghar Tigers:

Among them are Rashid Khan (C), Rahmanullah Gurbaz (WK), Hassan Eisakhil, Imran Mir, Samiullah Shinwari, Baheer Shah, Allah Noor, Barakatullah Kadada, Ikram Alikhil, Tariq Stanikzai, Ismat Alam, Waheed Zadran, Arab Gul, Yamin Ahmadzai, Bilal Sami, Mohammad Ibrahim, and Faridoon Dawoodzai.

Band-e-Amir Dragons:

Hasmatullah Shahidi (C), Mahboob Taskeen (WK), Ali Ahmad, Karim Janat, Shams Ur Rahman, Nangial Kharoti, Amir Hamza, Allah Mohammad, Babar Khan, Naveen Ul Haq, Khalil Ahmad, Abdullah Ahmadzai, and Nijat Masood are the members of the Band-e-Amir Dragons.

Mis-e-Ainak Knights:

Ibrahim Zadran (C), Afsar Zazai (WK), Wafiullah Tarakhil, Nasir Jamal, Mohammad Nabi, Abdul Rahman Ramani, Mujeeb Rahman, Zia Ur Rahman Akbar, Khalil Gurbaz, Abdullah Tarakhil, Naveed Obaid, Rahmanullah Zadran, Nasim Mangal, and Yama Arab.

Bost Defenders:

Rahmat Shah (C), Noman Shah (WK), Hazratullah Zazai, Mohammad Akram, Bilal Ahmad Tareen, Najibullah Zadran, Darwish Rasooli, Ijaz Ahmadzai, Abdul Hadi, Gulbadin Naib, Noor Ahmad, Naseer Khan, Abdul Baqi, Fareed Ahmad Malik, Zia Ur Rahman Sharifi, Bashir Ahmad, and Samiullah Sarmast are the Bost Defenders.

Amo Sharks:

Azmatullah Omarzai (C), Mohammad Ishaq (WK) Shahidullah  Kamal, Abdul Malik, Zubaid Akbari, Mohammad Haroon, Javeed Ahmadzai, Ijaz Ahmad Azad, Hayat Nasiri, Masood Gurbaz, Sharafuddin Ashraf, Juma Gul, Qais Ahmad, Mohammadullah Logari, Fazal Haq Farooqi, Saleem Safi, Mohammad Gul, Kamil Kakar.

On August 12, the first game will pit the Band-e-Amir Dragons against the reigning champions, the Speenghar Tigers.

The event's title sponsorship rights have been acquired by Super Cola Beverages Manufacturing Company, and the presenting sponsorship rights have been acquired by Etisalat Afghanistan Telecommunication Company. "XBull Energy Drink Shpageeza Cricket League 2024 Presented by Etisalat" is the new name that the Shpageeza Cricket League 2024 will go under.

The 9th edition of the X-Bull Energy Shpageeza Cricket League 2024, Presented by Etisalat, is an important component of Afghanistan's domestic cricket framework and will be vital to the development of cricket in the nation. The seventh Ahmad Shah Abdali First Class Tournament will take place in September of this year, 2024, and will be followed by the Shpageeza Cricket League.
