Afghanistan to Tour Zimbabwe for an all-format series in December

A three-match T20I series will begin the series, and games are set for December 9, 11, and 12 at the Harare Sports Club. A three-match ODI series will thereafter take place at the same location on December 15, 17, and 19. A two-match Test series in Bulawayo will wrap up the tour; the first Test is set for December 26–30, and the second is set for January 2–6.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board's chairman, Mr. Mirwais Ashraf, expressed his happiness with the 2024 local and international schedule's flurry of activity. "We've had good accomplishments and have been very productive both domestically and internationally this year," he remarked. In order to bring greater honor to our country, we are determined to work hard and add more bilateral cricket to our schedule in the upcoming year.

Mr. Ashraf continued, "The all-format tour to Zimbabwe is a significant event for us," in reference to the tour. Playing in Zimbabwe has always been difficult, but I think the AfghanAtalan can handle the task with assurance. We have a long history there.

"Boxing Day and New Year's Test matches are iconic cricket fixtures that we are delighted to be adding to our calendar this festive season and we are looking forward to celebrating in style one of the finest traditions in the sport's long history," ZC Chairman Mr. Tavengwa Mukuhlani said in reference to the historic series against Afghanistan.

"As a strong indication of our dedication to raising our game in all formats, we will begin with some T20I and ODI action in Harare prior to the Test series, which is set for Bulawayo.

"Zimbabwean-Afghan matches are always thrilling and intense affairs, and we are confident that the players will provide some fantastic entertainment worthy of such a historic tour."

Before the first Twenty20 International match on December 9, the AfghanAtalan team will have two practice sessions in Zimbabwe after arriving on December 6.
