The senior men's selection committee names Ajit Agarkar as its chairman

Interviews for one selector on the Men's Selection Committee were conducted by the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), which included Ms. Sulakshana Naik, Mr. Ashok Malhotra, and Mr. Jatin Paranjape.

Mr. Ajit Agarkar has been unanimously recommended for the aforementioned job by the three-member CAC.

Based on seniority (total number of Test matches), the committee additionally recommended Mr. Agarkar for the position of Chairperson of the Men's Selection Committee.

* In addition to participating in 110 first-class, 270 List A, and 62 T20 games, the former all-rounder for India also played in 26 Tests, 191 ODIs, and four T20 Internationals.

* He was a former fast bowler who competed for India in the 2007 T20 World Cup, which was hosted for the first time in South Africa. With a 21-ball fifty against Zimbabwe in 2000

* He still maintains the record for the quickest ODI half-century by an Indian hitter.

* He also held the record for the quickest time to 50 ODI wickets for over ten years, reaching that number in just 23 games.
