India’s Arshdeep Singh etched his name in history with a stellar 2024 campaign that culminated in his side’s T20 World Cup victory in the West Indies and USA. With 36 wickets at an average of 13.50, Arshdeep’s performances redefined excellence in the shortest format.
At the heart of his success was his ability to deliver under pressure. Arshdeep topped the wicket charts during the T20 World Cup, taking 17 scalps with masterful spells that showcased his fearsome pace and control. His standout moments included a spellbinding 4 for 9 against the USA and crucial three-wicket hauls against Afghanistan and Australia in the Super 8s.
The grand finale against South Africa saw Arshdeep rise to the occasion, delivering a decisive 2 for 20 in the death overs, turning the tide in India’s favor and sealing a seven-run victory.

New Zealand’s Amelia Kerr demonstrated why she is considered one of the finest all-rounders in women’s cricket, claiming the ICC Women’s T20I Cricketer of the Year award. Kerr’s incredible 387 runs and 29 wickets at 15.55 in 2024 were instrumental in the White Ferns’ success, including their T20 World Cup triumph in the UAE.
Kerr’s versatility shone brightly in the World Cup, where she delivered in all facets of the game. Her record-breaking bowling display included four wickets against defending champions Australia, followed by match-winning performances against Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and West Indies.
In the final against South Africa, Kerr showcased her big-match temperament, scoring a crucial 43 off 38 balls and claiming 3 for 24 with the ball. Her scalps included key dismissals of Laura Wolvaardt and Anneke Bosch, ensuring a comprehensive 32-run victory for New Zealand.
