Australian Womens Cricket Team ready for a monumental summer

The CommBank Women's Ashes series, which is much anticipated, will take place after the white-ball series against India and the three-match series against trans-Tasman rivals New Zealand. This will serve as an excellent warm-up for the ICC T20 World Cup in Dubai.

No other men's or women's team in the history of the sport has ever achieved what the Australian women's team is aiming to accomplish: winning the ICC T20 World Cup for four straight years.

Australia is undoubtedly the most successful team in international sport due to their outstanding performance in all formats, and this international Cup gives them another opportunity to continue their reputation.

The players will head back home for the Weber Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) after the competition. The WBBL, now in its historic tenth season, is still expanding and becoming the world's best women's cricket league. As a reflection of the league's growing fan base and stellar reputation for competition, the Stadium Series is coming back to prominent venues across the nation to present elite cricket.

The CommBank Women's Ashes series, which will feature a historic Day-Night Test at the MCG where Australia will try to retain the coveted trophy in front of home fans, will be the ultimate challenge of the home summer. A thrilling three-game CommBank ODI series against India in early December will set the stage for this thrilling match.

The Australian team, led by Alyssa Healy, is full of celebrity players, a combination of past winners and up-and-coming cricketers.

While Beth Mooney continues to be the world's top-ranked women's T20 batter, Ellyse Perry is still one of cricket's finest players. Further depth is provided by rising talents Phoebe Litchfield and Annabel Sutherland, the latter of whom made history in the 2023 Ashes by becoming the first Australian woman to score a century in Test cricket.

Nick Hockley, CEO of Cricket Australia, stated:

We have the utmost pride in this squad and their outstanding accomplishments. They have established the benchmark in international sport as well as cricket.

With the opportunity to create history at the ICC T20 World Cup and then returning for a ground-breaking home Ashes series, which includes a Day Night Test at the MCG on the 90th anniversary of the inaugural women's Test match, tonight's series opener in Mackay heralds the start of what looks to be an incredible season.

"We are excited for the upcoming cricket season, as this team continues to inspire a new generation of Australians by setting the standard both on and off the field."

When Australia plays New Zealand live, fans can follow all the action on ABC Radio, Seven Network, 7Plus, Fox Cricket, and Kayo Sports.

Starting on October 3, the ICC Women's T20 World Cup will be available exclusively and live on Prime Video.
