In advance of the highly anticipated Season 3, which is set to premiere on January 9, 2025, Betway SA20 and DP World, a major worldwide smart logistics and supply chain firm, have announced a new strategic relationship. Under this partnership, DP World will serve as the League's "Global Logistics Partner," offering astute logistics solutions to help ensure the smooth and effective operation of South Africa's top T20 cricket league.
"For Betway SA20, partnering with DP World represents a major milestone," stated League Commissioner Graeme Smith. "We are dedicated to partnering with companies that have the same vision for innovation and ongoing development as the League, as their experience will greatly improve our operations and the competition experience as a whole."
The McLaren Formula One team, the DP World Tour, the Ryder Cup, SAIL GP, and the ICC are all part of DP World's prestigious portfolio of sporting partnerships, which now includes this alliance. Additionally, DP World is the Title Partner of the DP World Wanderers Stadium, which will host the Betway SA20 Final on February 8, 2025.
With our clever logistical solutions, DP World is revolutionizing the sports industry and expanding everyone's possibilities. Mohammed Akoojee, CEO & MD, sub-Saharan Africa, DP World, stated, "The partnership between DP World and SA20 is an extension of DP World's significant focus on cricket partnerships in South Africa and globally, and is a testament to our shared vision of innovation, excellence, and community impact."
"Our strategic partnership with SA20 is an opportunity for DP World to connect communities through sport and sport development, in addition to offering and showcasing our supply chain expertise."
Through the Beyond Boundaries Initiative, a global commitment to the growth of cricket and the communities it serves, the logistics behemoth also makes a difference in the lives of many young cricket players. Through this initiative, DP World will design and distribute fifty repurposed shipping containers to grassroots cricket clubs worldwide, outfitting each one with much-needed equipment. DP World used its global smart logistics network to deliver 10 containers globally and provide 2,500 cricket kits to aspiring players during the first year of the initiative. Both organizations will collaborate with Betway SA20's impact programs and the Beyond Boundaries Initiative to keep improving the game for all players.
Together, the two organizations aim to improve cricket on the field and provide sustainable and effective off-field solutions that are on par with international best practices. It is a component of a common goal to solidify South Africa's position as a world center for international trade and cricket excellence.
On January 9, the defending champion Sunrisers Eastern Cape take on MI Cape Town at St George's Park to kick off Season 3 of Betway SA20. As the top local and international performers take center stage, this marks the beginning of a month-long celebrations throughout the nation.
