Delhi Premier League T20 | Central Delhi Kings register comfortable 10 wicket win over West Delhi Lions

Delhi Premier League Twenty20: On August 24, 2024, Central Delhi Kings defeat West Delhi Lions by a convincing margin of ten wickets. At the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, the Central Delhi Kings defeated the West Delhi Lions by a margin of ten wickets in the ongoing Adani Delhi Premier League T20 on Saturday.

Dhruv Kaushik and Lakshay Thareja, the openers for the Central Delhi Kings, came out swinging, setting a low scoring goal of 124. Both openers were assertive in their approach from the beginning and were having no trouble establishing boundaries. Central Delhi Kings were 60/0 at the end of the powerplay. They managed to chase down the mark in 14.5 overs with all 10 wickets in hand with to the strong momentum of Dhruv and Lakshay. Dhruv scored 68 off of 52 balls to stay undefeated. Two sixes and six boundaries marked his innings. Lakshay Thareja provided him with excellent support, scoring 46 off of 37 balls. Three boundaries and one six were hit during his innings.

Central Delhi Kings had won the toss and chosen to bowl first earlier in the game. The opening pair for the West Delhi Lions, who have lost their past two games, was Ankit Kumar and Vivek Yadav. Sumit Kumar of the Central Delhi Kings dismissed both of the openers, denying the West Delhi Lions the start they had hoped for. Vivek Yadav scored three off nine balls, while Amit Kumar made nine off seven. Now that both openers had returned to the pavilion, Yugal Saini and Krish Yadav had to shoulder the burden. The West Delhi Lions found it difficult to maintain the scoreboard's pace as the Central Delhi Kings bowlers stuck to their line and length.

Yogesh Sharma next removed Yugal Saini for seven runs. With the powerplay coming to a conclusion, the West Delhi Lions were down 33/3. After then, Krish Yadav and Ayush Doseja gradually rotated the strikes and kept the scoreboard ticking over. At 53/3 midway through their innings, the West Delhi Lions were ahead of schedule.

But Ayush's partnership with Krish, which had reached 38 runs from 43 balls, ended when he was stumped by Lakshay Thareja, who was bowling for 21 runs from 25 balls, off Prince Choudhary. Hrithik Shokeen, the captain of the West Delhi Lions, came to the crease as the pressure increased. Nevertheless, Yogesh Sharma removed him after just four runs, so his time was brief. The next player to go was the seemingly in-form Krish Yadav, as Prince Choudhary secured his second wicket. Krish connected on 19 of 25 balls.

With wickets falling often, the West Delhi Lions had trouble hitting boundaries. Tishant Pawan Dabla and Aryan Dalal chipped in towards the end of the innings with 27 and 22 runs, respectively. In the 20 overs that were allocated to them, West Delhi Lions scored 123/8.

Prince Choudhary, Sumit Kumar, and Yogesh Sharma each took two wickets for the Central Delhi Kings, while Money Grewal took one.
