For the forthcoming tour to South Africa and the 2025 Women's Ashes, Courtney Winfield-Hill will serve as an assistant coach in the England Women coaching staff.
After her obligations in Australia are up, the 37-year-old, who is now coaching with the Brisbane Heat in the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL), will join the team in South Africa.
Winfield-Hill helped with Trent Rockets in this summer's Women's Hundred and was a member of the England Women coaching staff for the September tour to Ireland.
She was previously the assistant coach for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Women's Premier League and the England Women's A and U19 teams, as well as the regional academy coach for Northern Diamonds.
The fast bowler, who was born in Australia, played for both the Brisbane Heat and his native state, Queensland Fire.
She led the Leeds Rhinos to a Grand Final and Challenge Cup double in 2019 after relocating to England in 2018. After qualifying on residency, she played for England in the 2022 Rugby League World Cup. She is currently a Senior Women and Girls' Partner with the sport's regulatory body.
"I am truly honored to be a part of the setup," Winfield-Hill stated. I have been made to feel very welcome since I started working with the England teams, and I believe the ECB has made an investment in my coaching development.
"I have learned a lot from my recent involvements with the England A, development games, and the Ireland tour, and it has been amazing to watch the growth of the domestic game over the last five years."
"South Africa and the Ashes are two exciting series," I said, adding that I am forward to collaborate with the team.
The development of the young players on our international pathway has been greatly aided by Courtney, who also brings immense value to any environment she is a part of, said Jonathan Finch, director of England Women's Cricket. She will provide the coaching staff a fresh perspective on the game, ensuring that the players' support keeps improving at this exciting time for the senior team.”
