2025-26 Ashes Test Schedule:
This schedule continues the tradition of hosting the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne and the New Year’s Test in Sydney, two of the most iconic events in the Ashes series.
Cricket Australia's seven-year scheduling plan
The 2025-26 Ashes dates align with Cricket Australia's broader seven-year scheduling plan, which was announced earlier in the year. This initiative aims to provide certainty in the international cricket calendar, benefiting players, fans, and tourism.
Interest in the 2025-26 Ashes
The Australia vs. England rivalry remains one of the most popular in the cricketing world, and global interest in the 2025-26 Ashes series is already at an all-time high. Many fans from overseas and interstate are eager to secure travel arrangements early. Releasing the Ashes dates well ahead of time allows fans to plan their trips accordingly.
Joel Morrison, CA Executive General Manager of Events and Operations, spoke about the importance of this announcement: "There is already enormous excitement surrounding the 2025-26 NRMA Insurance Ashes series, and we are pleased to announce the dates for the five Men’s Tests, enabling fans across the world to lock in their travel plans."
Morrison also acknowledged the role of state and territory governments in growing cricket events, ensuring memorable experiences for international and local fans alike.
Perth to host the opening Ashes Test
Perth will take center stage for the opening Ashes Test match. Western Australia's Deputy Premier and Minister for Tourism, Rita Saffioti, expressed her excitement about this major event:
"Western Australia has a long and incredibly proud cricketing history, so we’re very excited to be hosting the opening Ashes Test match in November 2025 at our award-winning Perth Stadium. The United Kingdom has consistently been WA’s top visitor market, and with the direct flight between London and Perth operating all year-round, it’s even easier for the cricket-mad English to escape their winter and head to Australia for an incredible summer of cricket."
Saffioti also encouraged visitors to explore Western Australia's tourist attractions, including Rottnest Island, Swan Valley, and Fremantle, during their stay.
