After winning the toss, Faf du Plessis chose to bat first. At one point, the RCB were struggling at 78 for 5, but the two turned things around with significant runs. Both Ajinkya Rahane 27 and Daryl Mitchell, 22 performed admirably as well. However, Shivam Dube 34* and Ravindra Jadeja 25* performances, which helped the defending champions defeat RCB by six wickets, were the cherry on top.

Karn Sharma and Yash Dayal each took one wicket, but Cameron Green took two for the RCB.
