DC vs RCB Highlights | RCB Win IPL 2025 Match 46

Royal Challengers Bengaluru Outclass Delhi Capitals in IPL 2025 Clash

Royal Challengers Bengaluru continued their strong late-season push with a six-wicket victory over Delhi Capitals in the 46th match of the Indian Premier League 2025. The Delhi Capitals vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru encounter at the Arun Jaitley Stadium saw RCB chase down a modest target of 163 with 9 balls to spare, thanks to Krunal Pandya’s all-round brilliance and Virat Kohli's solid foundation.

Final Scorecard Snapshot

Delhi Capitals 162/8 (20 overs): Karun Nair 44, KL Rahul 41; Bhuvneshwar Kumar 3-30, Josh Hazlewood 2-36

Royal Challengers Bengaluru 165/4 (18.3 overs): Krunal Pandya 73*, Virat Kohli 51; Axar Patel 2-19

Result: Royal Challengers Bengaluru won by six wickets

Delhi Capitals Struggle to Build Momentum

Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Delhi Capitals never really found their rhythm. Despite decent starts by Abishek Porel (28 off 11) and Karun Nair (44 off 44), they couldn't convert their starts into big scores. KL Rahul played a labored knock of 41 off 39 but struggled to find boundaries at key moments.

It was Tristan Stubbs' late cameo of 34 off 18 balls that pushed Delhi to a respectable but hardly daunting total of 162/8. Delhi Capitals IPL 2025 once again showcased their middle-order vulnerabilities, collapsing in clusters after partnerships threatened to stabilize the innings.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar (3/30) and Josh Hazlewood (2/36) were outstanding for RCB, applying pressure throughout the innings. Suyash Sharma’s economical spell (4-0-22-0) also helped choke the scoring rate in the middle overs.

Krunal Pandya Guides RCB Home

The chase for Royal Challengers Bengaluru IPL 2025 was not without its hiccups. Losing three wickets inside the Powerplay including that of Virat Kohli (51 off 47) could have derailed their pursuit. However, Krunal Pandya played a match-winning knock under pressure.

Promoted up the order, Krunal anchored the innings masterfully with a fluent 73 off 47 balls, striking boundaries at crucial moments and expertly rotating strike. Tim David added the finishing touches with a quickfire 19* off 13 balls.

Despite early breakthroughs by Axar Patel and Dushmantha Chameera, Delhi lacked the penetration to defend a modest total. Their bowling, often lacking bite in crucial phases this season, allowed RCB to recover and dominate the middle overs.

Tactical Shifts Pay Off for RCB

RCB's decision to bat deeper with Krunal Pandya promoted worked wonders. With Rajat Patidar getting run out early and Jacob Bethell and Devdutt Padikkal falling cheaply, RCB could have been under significant pressure. However, the composure shown by Krunal ensured there were no late collapses.

Kohli's experience shone through as he calmly built the innings while leaving the aggression to Krunal, before finally falling to Chameera in the 18th over. By then, the result was a formality.

Player of the Match: Krunal Pandya

It was a complete performance from Krunal Pandya, who not only contributed with the bat but also bowled four economical overs for just 28 runs. His calmness under pressure and ability to accelerate when required earned him the Player of the Match award.

This performance could be pivotal for RCB as they try to string together wins to secure a playoff spot. Krunal’s emergence as a reliable batting option adds depth to their middle order a department that had been questioned earlier this season.

What's Next for Both Teams?

For Delhi Capitals, the loss further dims their already faint playoff hopes. The Delhi Capitals IPL 2025 campaign has been marked by inconsistency, especially in their batting, and time is running out to correct course.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru, meanwhile, move up the points table with this crucial win. Their Royal Challengers Bengaluru IPL 2025 journey now looks back on track, but with competition fierce, every game remains a must-win from here.
