Hometown Hero to Lead UP Warriorz in Their First Home Season

The UP Warriorz have ushered in a new era ahead of WPL 2025 by appointing Deepti Sharma as their captain. The announcement, made by former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina, is historic as Deepti becomes the first UP Warriorz captain to lead the team in Lucknow, their home venue.

This milestone also marks the first time WPL matches will be played in Lucknow, adding significance to Deepti’s leadership as she guides her side at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium. The UP Warriorz will face Gujarat Giants (March 3), Mumbai Indians (March 6), and RCB (March 8) at home.
