The JSW and GMR co-owned Delhi Capitals celebrated a successful outing at the IPL 2025 Mega Auction as they assembled a robust squad for the upcoming season.

Delhi Capitals management credits strategic preparation for IPL 2025 Mega Auction Success

The Delhi Capitals, which are jointly owned by JSW and GMR, had a great time during the IPL 2025 Mega Auction and put together a strong team for the forthcoming year.

On the second day of the auction, the Delhi-based team acquired the services of domestic all-rounders Vipraj Nigam (Rs 50 lakh) and Darshan Nalkande (Rs 30 lakh), as well as former South Africa captain Faf du Plessis (Rs 2 crore), India pacer Mukesh Kumar (Rs 8 crore - RTM), and Sri Lanka bowler Dushmantha Chameera (Rs 75 lakh).

During the last stage of the IPL 2025 mega auction, they went on to purchase uncapped players including Madhav Tiwari (Rs 40 lakh), Tripurana Vijay (Rs 30 lakh), Mavanth Kumar (Rs 30 lakh), India's Ajay Mandal (Rs 30 lakh), and South Africa's wicketkeeper-batter Donovan Ferreira (Rs 75 lakh).

The Delhi Capitals' chairman and co-owner, Mr. Kiran Kumar Grandhi, commented on the composition of the team for the 2025 Indian Premier League, saying, "This year the outcome has been really good." We did our best, were well-prepared, and conducted extensive scouting and simulated auctions. We are quite pleased with how things turned out, and we followed our budgets and objectives.

The Delhi Capitals' co-owner, Parth Jindal, called the squad "balanced." "The auction proceeded exactly as planned. I want to express my gratitude to the entire support team for their tremendous efforts in creating the full auction plan. We are thrilled with the well-rounded team we have assembled," he continued.

Hemang Badani, the head coach of the Delhi Capitals, also gave his opinions about the team. "We did a good job," he stated. We have a strong Indian core and the players we sought. For us, it was a full auction, and we are quite pleased with the selection. It will be game time in two to three months!

KL Rahul (Rs 14 crore), Mitchell Starc (Rs 11.75 crore), Jake Fraser-McGurk (Rs 9 crore - RTM), Harry Brook (Rs 6.25 crore), T Natarajan (Rs 10.75 crore), Karun Nair (Rs 50 lakh), Sameer Rizvi (Rs 95 lakh), Ashutosh Sharma (Rs 3.80 crore), and Mohit Sharma (Rs 2.20 crore) were among the well-balanced mix of domestic and international players that the Delhi Capitals acquired on Day 1.

Concerning DELHI CAPITALS
 
The Delhi Capitals squad competes in the Women's Premier League (WPL) as well as the Indian Premier League (IPL). Founded in 2008 as the Delhi Daredevils, the Delhi Capitals, which are co-owned by the GMR Group and the JSW Group, adopted a new look in 2019. The team made it to its first-ever final in 2020. One of the original five teams to play in the Women's Premier League was the Delhi Capitals in 2023. In both the tournament's first and second iterations, the team advanced to the final and finished as runners-up.
