Legendary Australian cricketer David Warner is preparing for his second season in the DP World International League T20 with the Dubai Capitals. Despite the fact that the team placed second in the last event, Warner is committed to helping the team expand on that achievement in 2025–Season 3. As he considered the tournament's distinctive design, he emphasized how it improves competition and gives local talent priceless chances. Warner is still dedicated to imparting his wealth of knowledge and fostering the development of UAE cricket as the new season draws near.
"I enjoyed the competition," the opening batsman remarked of his previous season with the Dubai Capitals, which also happened to be his first time at the DP World ILT20. It was difficult for the opening batsman and beneficial for the bowlers. I think it was amazing how we battled and recovered well at the finish of the competition."
The hard-hitting southpaw commented, "It's rare to have the opportunity where such great talent from around the world mixes with local talent," in reference to the unusual squad composition at the DP World ILT20, which requires each team to have up to nine international players in addition to at least two players from the United Arab Emirates. In my opinion, it's a fantastic experience for the local players, but more significantly, it makes the already fierce competition stronger. Everyone in Australia and other nations talks about it, and it's very competitive. Everybody is talking about this competition and wants to participate.
Warner also went to show his admiration for UAE cricket players, praising Haider Ali's contribution to the Dubai Capitals' performance the previous season. For us, Haider Ali, I believe, stood out. He didn't have many chances to play, but when he did, he showed off his skills and really grasped the situation. I was ecstatic and incredibly thrilled for him. He played a significant and essential role in our squad.
"The best thing about the venue is the atmosphere," Warner stated, describing the Dubai International Stadium, home field of the Dubai Capitals, as one of his favorite locations worldwide. It's loud, thrilling, and includes the light show and all of its accessories once you're inside and the supporters are there to support the game. The aesthetics are simply amazing.
Warmer could not help but think about Australia's triumphant 2021 World Cup campaign, where they won the championship for the first time, when he recalled his favorite memory of the United Arab Emirates. "It was really exciting," he remarked. In the final and semi-final, we played two extremely close games. It was in our hearts. We had a strong start in chasing the ultimate total, but we still needed to form alliances. The audience was fantastic, as was the atmosphere. Playing cricket in this region of the world is simply amazing.
"The best thing I like here is the wicket," Warner added, praising the ground's size and wicket dynamics. You can play more freely after you get past the early phase, which can be difficult at first. I adore the border dimensions; we don't have them in Australia. Despite the size of the MCG, the grounds here are ideal for a batsman. I enjoy playing here, even though the pockets can be a bit large. It's always positive. "You can be there at the end if you make it through the new ball," he said.
"I urge everyone to come out and support the teams—whichever team it may be," Warner said in an address to the Capitals' and DP World ILT20 supporters. The best thing is that you get to see amazing local and international talent. Please go out, buy some tickets, and take in some thrilling cricket—it's a huge spectacle."
"This game has given me everything, and it's upon myself to give the game back because it owes me nothing," Warner, a legend of the game with 49 international hundreds across all forms, said in reference to the next stage of his career. My primary goal is to continue producing cricket players who will advance through the ranks, compete in competitions like this one, and continue developing as a leader while ensuring that I'm passing on my expertise to the younger generation. I owe everything to those who have helped me along the way."
"It's not just a game for the young," he continued. You must maintain your fitness to keep up with the younger players, but you can play at my age as well."
