The Dream Sports Championship (DSC) U15 Table Tennis Tournament began with a thrilling opening day on March 17, 2025, in Chennai, featuring impressive displays of skill, determination, and sportsmanship. Young paddlers from across the country showcased their talents, setting the tone for an exciting competition.
Orientation Session Led by Sporting Icons
The tournament’s opening was graced by Table Tennis legend Sharath Kamal, Dream Sports Foundation Sr. Program Director Navin Fernandes, and Deepak Malik, Co-founder and COO of Stupa Analytics. Their motivational addresses provided young athletes with insights into the sport, the importance of resilience, and how data-driven analytics are transforming competitive sports.
Standout Performances on Day 1
The first day saw some electrifying performances in both the boys’ and girls’ U15 categories.
Boys’ Category Highlights
K Akshay Bhushan dominated his match against Bhiwandkar Param, securing a 3-0 victory with scores of 11-1, 12-10, and 11-8. His exceptional control and aggressive shot-making made him one to watch in the tournament.
Chakraborty Shrestho engaged in a thrilling five-game battle against Dhariwal Siddhanth. After a back-and-forth encounter, Shrestho emerged victorious with a 3-2 win (11-2, 10-12, 11-6, 15-17, 13-11), showcasing his mental fortitude and precision under pressure.
Girls’ Category Highlights
Dhar Shreya put on a commanding performance against Dhimahi Kabrawala, securing a 3-0 win with scores of 11-4, 11-8, and 11-1. Her dominance in the match demonstrated her superior footwork and strategic play.
Jitnada Unjit also impressed, overcoming Singhal Akanksha in a 3-0 win (11-2, 11-9, 11-5), controlling the pace of the game with sharp returns and well-placed shots.
