Adani Premier League T20: Centurions Anuj Rawat and Sujal Singh set a record for the second-highest opening partnership in T20s as East Delhi Riders defeated Purani Dilli in a thrilling match.

New Delhi, August 29, 2024: On Thursday, in the ongoing Adani Delhi Premier League T20 at Arun Jaitley Stadium, East Delhi Riders defeated Purani Dilli 6 by a margin of 26 runs.

Purani Dilli 6 began the innings with Captain Arpit Rana and Sanat Sangwan, chasing the target of 242. The team didn't get off to the ideal start as Mayank Rawat removed Sanat for seven runs. The next batsman out was Keshav Dalal, who lost his second wicket to Mayank Rawat.

Lalit Yadav was the next to fall, bowled for a duck by Harsh Tyagi. In 5.3 overs, the team was struggling at 34/3. The squad was 40/3 at the conclusion of the powerplay. Aprit Rana and Vansh Bedi put up a 98-run partnership in 47 balls for the fourth wicket as wickets fell often.

Harsh Tyagi then removed Arpit Rana for 27 runs off of 28 balls. Purani Dilli 6 was still in the game because to Vansh Bedi's hitting of the ball and his ability to find boundaries from the other end. Anuj and Sujal played excellent shots and consistently found the boundary, helping the team finish the powerplay with 50/0. In 31 balls, Sujal achieved his half-century. In his innings, he hit five sixes and four boundaries, while Anuj Rawat took 38 balls to achieve his half-century. There were four sixes and three boundaries throughout his innings.

In 10.3 overs, East Delhi Riders scored 100/0. The pair was searching in excellent shape and effortlessly identifying boundaries. They frequently found the spaces and cleared the limits by combining aggressive shot-making with sound technique. Anuj and Sujal made batting appear effortless, leaving the opposing bowlers perplexed. In 18 overs, the pair shared a 200-run partnership for the first wicket.

In just 59 balls, Anuj Rawat made his century, and Sujal Singh did the same in 55 balls. Anuj and Sujal's prolific hitting enabled the East Delhi Riders to amass a massive 241/0 in the 20 overs that were allocated to them.
