Following the 3-0 Test series success in 2022, eight members of the team—Rehan Ahmed, Harry Brook, Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Jack Leach, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, and Ben Stokes—return to Pakistan.
The only players without caps in the team are Essex batsman Jordan Cox and Durham seamer Brydon Carse.
Jack Leach, a spinner from Somerset, is back in the Test lineup for the first time since the first Test in India in January 2024.
Rehan Ahmed, a leg-spinner from Leicestershire, will be looking to increase his total of four Test caps. Ahmed made his Test debut in Karachi during the most recent Pakistan trip in December 2022.
Leicestershire seamer Josh Hull, who made his Test debut at Kia Oval last week, is part of the England squad for his first senior tour.
Zak Crawley, the opener for Kent, rejoins the team after being absent since the July West Indies series. The 26-year-old is recovering significantly enough to be considered for selection after suffering a fracture to his right little finger at Edgbaston in July.
As he continues his recuperation from a hamstring rupture that prevented him from playing in the recent Test series victory over Sri Lanka, captain Ben Stokes is also selected.
The Pakistan Cricket Board is anticipated to make an announcement later this week regarding the sites for the three-match series.
