England vs New Zealand - 2nd Test, Trent Bridge

In the two-match Test series between England and New Zealand last year, the New Zealand team defeated the England team on English soil. Since then, England have been on a losing streak, losing to India, losing to Australia in Ashes and losing to the West Indies. England's Test team comes back to life after beating New Zealand in the first Test recently.

One thing the England team has to do right now in the series with 3 Test match test series against NZ is to win another match. This is because the last time England won a Test series on English soil was in 2020. So with all the anticipation the England team is currently waiting to play in the 2nd Test led by Ben Stokes.

New Zealand captain Kane Williamson has been ruled out of the second Test due to a corona. Tom Latham will lead the New Zealand team in his place. And now it's toss time.

Day 1: first session (NZ Batting)

In the first Test, James Anderson grabbed Will Young's wicket early and gave the New Zealand team a crisis. So this time the New Zealand team is playing casually with that in mind. No run was accumulated in the first over.

 Matty Potts, James Anderson and Stuart Broad have been trying to take wickets by throwing alternate overs. The New Zealand openers, however, have been playing tirelessly. By the end of 10 overs, NZ Scoreboard is now 25-0.

Finally, a 77 run partnership comes to an end in the last ball of the 39th over. England skipper. poor execution from Nicholls was the mistake. He departs for 30(52).

4th Wicket!!!

This time James Anderson strikes. A big inside edge leads to the wicket of Conway. Conway departs for 46(62) runs. Back to back wickets for team England. Now at the end of 42 Overs, NZ Scoreboard is now 169-4.

And from there everything went wrong for team England. Daryl Mitchell and Tom Blundell now added up 149* run partnership Daryl Mitchell 81(147) and Tom Blundell 67(136) for the fifth wicket and the partnership is still going to be continued for tomorrow. The duo has been playing together for forty-five overs without losing the wicket. From 169-4, now the scoreboard of New Zealand is 318-4 (87 Overs).

At the end of day one, New Zealand is now on the upper hand. They rectified their mistakes from the first match. The partnership which was very important for the test match. And they concentrated on that factor very well today. Now England need to take the wickets of well settled Blundell and Mitchell quickly in the tomorrow game. It's going to be a tough day for England tomorrow. Let's see what will happen tomorrow.

Blundell and Mitchell have been playing really well on the second day as well. It's not a good sign for England. 150 run partnership is on.

Mitchell hit a century in the tenth over of the second day's play. After the Century in Lord's now it's in Nottingham. Yes, back to back century for Mitchell. He is in Red hot form.

There is no stopping him. He passed the 150 mark in his test career for the first time so far. Michael Bracewell adjusted to the wicket and played decently. England team score is nearing 450.

Oh No! Rain stopped the play and it’s Time for tea break. Michael Bracewell is nearing his 50 run mark and Daryl Mitchell aiming for 200.And moreover the partnership between them is slowly nearing 100.

Well Deserved Half Century missed by Bracewell

Bracewell, who was playing well with Mitchell, was outscored by Anderson with his incredible delivery. Bracewell thought to block the ball. But unexpectedly due to the leading edge, the ball went into the hands of Root, who was standing in the first slip. Bracewell missed the chance to hit a half-century by one run in his first Test match.

New Zealand lost two wickets in a row in the 139th over. Stuart Broad bowled brilliantly and took the wickets of Jamieson and Southee. A tight come back by England.
