ICC Confirms Match Officials for CT 2025 in PAK & UAE

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially announced the match officials for the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 (CT 2025), which is set to take place in Pakistan (PAK) and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from February 19 to March 9. The tournament, featuring eight teams, will be played across Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi in PAK, with Dubai hosting select matches in the UAE.

A 12-member elite umpiring panel and a three-member team of match referees have been selected to oversee the high-stakes tournament.

Elite Umpires Set for ICC Champions Trophy 2025

The umpires' panel includes several experienced officials who have previously officiated in ICC tournaments, including the last edition of the Champions Trophy in 2017. Richard Kettleborough, Chris Gaffaney, Kumar Dharmasena, Richard Illingworth, Paul Reiffel, and Rod Tucker all return to the competition, bringing with them extensive experience from past ICC events.

Kettleborough and Illingworth, who officiated the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 final in Ahmedabad, are joined by other top umpires such as Michael Gough, Adrian Holdstock, Ahsan Raza, Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid, Alex Wharf, and Joel Wilson, all of whom played key roles in officiating at the recent CWC 2023 in India.

With a blend of experience and skill, the umpires' panel is well-equipped to handle the intensity of CT 2025, ensuring fair play and accurate decision-making throughout the tournament.

Top Match Referees to Oversee the Tournament

The ICC has also named a three-member match referees' panel comprising some of the most respected officials in world cricket.

The Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees for CT 2025 includes:

• David Boon, who was the referee in the 2017 Champions Trophy final
• Andrew Pycroft, who has officiated in multiple ICC tournaments
• Ranjan Madugalle, an experienced match referee who also officiated the 2013 Champions Trophy final

These officials bring a wealth of experience and leadership to the tournament, ensuring smooth operations and strict adherence to ICC regulations.
