The International Masters League T20 2025 kicked off with a high-octane clash between India Masters (INDM) and Sri Lanka Masters (SLM) at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai. Cricket fans were treated to an electrifying contest as INDM emerged victorious by a narrow margin of four runs.

SLM, winning the toss, opted to bowl first, aiming to restrict INDM’s formidable batting lineup. INDM set a challenging target of 222/4 in 20 overs, with Yusuf Pathan leading the charge with an unbeaten 56 off just 22 balls. Contributions from Stuart Binny (68 off 31), Gurkeerat Singh (44 off 32), and Yuvraj Singh (31 off 22) ensured a strong total. Lakmal and Udana were the standout bowlers for SLM, picking up crucial wickets while maintaining control over the run rate.

Chasing 222, SLM got off to a shaky start, losing Upul Tharanga early for just 10 runs. However, Kumar Sangakkara steadied the innings with a commanding 51 off 30 balls. Lahiru Thirimanne (24 off 17) and Asela Gunaratne (37 off 25) provided key support, but wickets fell at regular intervals. Despite a valiant 42-run effort from Jeevan Mendis, SLM fell just short, finishing at 218/9. Vinay Kumar was the pick of the bowlers for INDM, taking 3 wickets for 32 runs, while Irfan Pathan and Abhimanyu Mithun also played vital roles in securing the win.
