The Board of Cricket Control in India has named the 16-men squad to face New Zealand A in the 4-day games which will get underway from September 1. The three matches are to be held in Bengaluru and Hubli. Priyank Panchal has been named as the captain for 4-day matches. The selectors have picked up new faces like Tilak Varma, who have been rewarded for his recent performances in the IPL. Kuldeep Yadav has also been selected after recovering from his injury concerns.
Ruthuraj Gaikwad has also been given an opportunity. Sarafraz Khan and Rajat Patidar the top two run getters of the recently concluded Ranji Trophy have been picked up and would want to make the best use of this opportunity. As far as the bowling is concerned, Nagaland’s Arzan Nagwaswalla and IPL sensation Umran Malik have retained their spots. Yash Dayal and Mukesh Kumar also find a place. As discussed earlier, Prasidh Krishna and Kuldeep Yadav have been rewarded for their white ball performances. Ishan Porel and Navdeep Saini was dropped from this list.
