India Home Season 2025: BCCI Fixtures Announced

India’s 2025 Home Season: BCCI Unveils Full Schedule Featuring West Indies and South Africa

In a much-anticipated announcement, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially released the fixtures for Team India’s international home season 2025. The season, set to begin in October and run through December, will feature high-profile bilateral series against West Indies and South Africa across Test matches, One-Day Internationals (ODIs), and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).

The calendar promises plenty of action for Indian cricket fans, with historic venues, debut Test locations, and key matchups forming a packed end-of-year lineup.

Test Season Kicks Off With West Indies

The 2025 home season will start with the IDFC First Bank Test series against West Indies, beginning on October 2, 2025, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. As India returns to red-ball action at home, expectations are high with a relatively young team gearing up for the ICC World Test Championship cycle.

The second and final Test of the West Indies tour will be held at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata, starting on October 10. The short two-match Test series is expected to offer key insights into India's squad depth and long-format combinations heading into a packed 2026 season.

South Africa Series Marks Guwahati’s Historic Test Debut

After the West Indies tour, India will shift focus to an all-format series against South Africa. This series is particularly noteworthy as Guwahati will host its maiden Test match, marking a major milestone in the expansion of Test cricket across India.

The India vs South Africa Test series will begin in New Delhi on November 14, followed by the historic second Test in Guwahati from November 22 to 26. The inclusion of Guwahati in the Test circuit reflects BCCI’s long-term plan to regionalize and broaden the reach of elite international cricket.

ODIs and T20Is to Wrap Up the Season

Post the Test battles, the India vs South Africa series will transition into white-ball formats. A three-match ODI series will begin on November 30 in Ranchi, followed by games in Raipur and Vizag on December 3 and December 6 respectively.

The final leg of the home season will be a five-match T20I series, offering both teams crucial preparation ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026. The T20I series starts on December 9 in Cuttack and concludes on December 19 in Ahmedabad, bringing the season full circle.

The T20I series is spread across diverse venues New Chandigarh, Dharamsala, Lucknow, and Ahmedabad all known for passionate crowds and high-energy cricket.

A Balanced Calendar with Strategic Venue Allocation

The BCCI has been strategic in venue allocation, ensuring a pan-India footprint throughout the season. With matches scheduled from metropolitan hubs like New Delhi and Kolkata to emerging centers like Raipur and New Chandigarh, the 2025 calendar is built not only around marquee fixtures but also around accessibility and regional fan engagement.

Moreover, the timing of the fixtures has been designed to avoid weather disruptions and align with global broadcasting windows, maximizing viewership.

Opportunity for Team India to Reassert Dominance

From a cricketing perspective, this home season provides India a vital opportunity to recalibrate after a mixed 2024 campaign. With younger players like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Shubman Gill expected to lead the batting lineup, and the pace battery rotating between Mohammed Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, and Prasidh Krishna, this season will test India's bench strength across formats.

The inclusion of seasoned players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, depending on fitness and form, could also be strategic for balance and leadership. All eyes will be on the T20Is, where India continues to fine-tune its aggressive approach ahead of the global stage.

Broadcasting, Fan Access, and Ticketing

According to the BCCI’s release, all matches of the 2025 home season will be broadcast live on Star Sports and streamed on Disney+ Hotstar, offering expansive coverage. Ticketing information will be made available closer to the match dates on the official BCCI website and affiliated ticketing partners.

Conclusion

India’s 2025 international home season is not just another string of bilateral series it represents cricket’s growing geographic spread, historic firsts like Guwahati’s debut Test, and an evolving Indian team testing its firepower before a busy 2026. With two exciting teams in West Indies and South Africa visiting, the stage is set for high-quality cricket that blends legacy with a look toward the future.

Fans can expect fierce rivalries, debut performances, and electric atmospheres from October through December, making this one of the most exciting home calendars in recent years.
