The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) named the India National Cricket Team's ODI team for the upcoming three-match ODI series against the Zimbabwe on 30th July (Saturday). The Zimbabwe tour finishes 5 days before the Asia Cup began in the UAE, which might reason why India's lineup misses several senior players, including regular skipper Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant. KL Rahul, who recovered from injury will take over ODI captaincy from Shikhar Dhawan.
Along with KL Rahul, Deepak Chahar has also returned to the squad after recovering from a major injury caused before of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Rahul Tripathi has earn maiden ODI call-up for Zimbabwe ODIs.
KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan will open for India in this tour. Shubman Gill might play at No.3 position.
