India vs South Africa - 2nd T20, Cuttack

Second defeat for Team India against South Africa | Did Team India miss Rohit Sharma here ???

The 2nd T20 match starts in Cuttack. There was no change in the Indian team as South Africa won the toss and was elected to field first. Injured De Kock misses the 2nd T20I. Wicket-keeper Batter Klassen replaces him. Similarly, Hendricks has come in instead of Stubbs.

It wasn't a good start for Team India. Ruturaj walks back for a single run. Rabada bowls with his usual seam but Ruturaj carelessly knocks it out. It's 50th T20I Wicket for Rabada. Then Ishan and Shreyas took the responsibility and executed it.

From 4 to 6 overs, Ishan was in a rage. He continuously smashed either boundary or six in between those overs. Notedly, it was dropped from Parnell on 6th Over. Pretorius created a chance but survived it. But soon in the next over, Nortje picked the wicket of Ishan

Rishabh Pant was brilliantly dismissed by Maharaja. A wider delivery urged Pant to play. Skipper departed for a single-digit run. Hardik, who excelled in the Last match went cheaply today. It was a clean Bowled. Parnell picked the big fish.

After Hardik departed, Shreyas lost his wicket soon after the next over. Shreyas who plays against spin with more confidence is not looking great against a pace attack. In the first match and now today he's attacking and hitting big shots. But against pace, it's a completely different approach from him. Again Pretorius who picked his wicket in the first match now repeated the scenario. Well-settled Iyer departs for 40

At the end of 20 overs, it was Karthik who boosted the team score. Those consecutive 2 sixes against Pretorius are a delight to watch. Karthik remained not out on 30. Team India ended with 148-6 at the end of 20 Overs.

South Africa Target was 149 from 120

Bhuvaneshwar Kumar played like, "he's on a mission". At the end of Powerplay, South Africa lost 3 wickets and scored just 29 runs. All credits goes to Bhuvaneshwar Kumar. He brilliantly fired Hendricks in the first over followed by Pretorius in 3rd and Van der Dussen in 6th over.

The joy did not remain so long for Indian fans. Skipper Bavuma and Klassen started to build a  basement for the chase. In particular, Klassen at first takes some time to settle in. And then he fired up. He made the 64-run partnership with the skipper which is the match-winning partnership today.

Even after Bavuma departed, he made another 50+ partnership with Miller and almost did it for his team. Harshal Patel who picked the wicket of Klassen at the end of 17th over. But honestly it was too late. Yes, at that stage SA needed only 5 runs from 3 overs. And South Africa won by 4 wickets at the end of 18.2 overs.

Klassen scored 81 runs that included 7 boundaries and 5 sixes. He came in for De Kock and did his role very well.

In today's game indian spinners played under average. Chahal ended his spell with 49 runs. Although he picked the wicket of Bavuma his economy today was 12.2. And Axar who bowled only one over ends with 19 runs. And sorry to say the batting from India was not that much we expected. The Indian team should have scored around 170 in today's match.

The only goodness that was for indian fans in the today's match is Bhuvaneshwar Kumar. What a spell from. He only conceded 13 runs and picked four wickets brilliantly.

Now team India needs to bounce back and have to win the upcoming three matches. Though It's a tough task, let's know what's going to happen.
