India Women secured a commanding 82-run win against Sri Lanka in the 12th match of Group A at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 in Dubai, boosting their chances of a semi-final berth.
Opening the innings, Smriti Mandhana (50) and Shafali Verma (43) provided a solid platform with a 98-run partnership. Despite both batters falling in quick succession, Harmanpreet Kaur's explosive 52 from 27 balls powered India to a formidable 172/3 in their 20 overs. Mandhana also became the youngest to reach 2,000 T20I runs during her innings, a remarkable milestone in the match.

The win moves India closer to securing a semi-final spot as they now prepare for a crucial final group stage match against Australia.
