India Masters Crush Australia Masters to Secure Spot in the Final
Tendulkar, Yuvraj, and Binny Shine as India Masters Set a Mammoth Target
Winning the toss and electing to bowl first, Australia Masters aimed to put India under pressure. However, their bowlers struggled against the aggressive Indian lineup. Sachin Tendulkar (42 off 30) and Yuvraj Singh (59 off 30) provided a strong platform, while Stuart Binny’s late blitz (36 off 21) pushed India to an imposing total.
India’s innings got off to a steady start with Tendulkar and Ambati Rayudu (5 off 8) at the crease. Rayudu fell early, but Tendulkar kept the scoreboard ticking, playing classical shots around the park. His innings ended at 109/3 in 11.2 overs, but by then, India had established a solid foundation.
Yuvraj Singh then took center stage, rolling back the years with an explosive 59 off just 30 balls, including seven fours and three sixes. His aggressive batting dismantled Australia’s bowling attack.
Stuart Binny (36 off 21) and Yusuf Pathan (23 off 10) provided the finishing touches, helping India reach a formidable 220/7 in 20 overs.
Ben Cutting (3/30) was the pick of the Australian bowlers, while Nathan Coulter-Nile, Xavier Doherty, and Daniel Christian chipped in with a wicket each.
Australia Masters Collapse Under India’s Dominant Bowling
Chasing a daunting 221, Australia Masters needed a flying start, but their innings never gained momentum. Captain Shane Watson (54 off 40) was the lone warrior, but lacked support from the other end.
Australia lost wickets early, with Vinay Kumar dismissing Watson and Shaun Marsh (21 off 15) to leave them struggling at 47/2. Things worsened when Shahbaz Nadeem (4/15) ran through the middle order, removing Ben Dunk, Nathan Reardon, and Nathan Coulter-Nile in quick succession.
Despite a late resistance from Ben Cutting (39 off 30), wickets continued to tumble as Irfan Pathan (2/20) and Pawan Negi (1/13) wrapped up the innings at 126 in 18.1 overs.
Shahbaz Nadeem Steals the Show
With figures of 4/15 in 4 overs, Shahbaz Nadeem was the standout bowler for India Masters, earning the Player of the Match award. His precise left-arm spin outfoxed the Australian batters, breaking partnerships and stifling their chase.
Vinay Kumar (2/10), Irfan Pathan (2/20), and Stuart Binny (1/16) also played crucial roles in dismantling the Australian lineup.
