DUBLIN: For this month's Youth ODI Tri-Series at Loughborough University against England Under-19s and Scotland Under-19s, an Ireland Under-19s Men's team has been picked.

Jordan Neill of CSNI will captain the team, which includes a number of players who played for Ireland at the ICC Under-19 Men's World Cup in South Africa earlier this year, as well as members of the group that defeated the England Under-19s at Loughborough in 2023.

The men's squad for Ireland Under-19 is:

Jordan Neill, the captain of the California Special Police, Macdara Cosgrave, Brian Dunphy (North County), Harry Dyer, Adam Leckey, Peter le Roux, Daniel Murray, Robert O'Brien, Freddie Ogilby, Olly Riley, Bready, Gavin Roulston, Matthew Weldon, The Hills, James West, Reuben Wilson (Clontarf), and Peter le Roux

Peter Johnston, head coach, stated:

"We sincerely appreciate the ECB's invitation to bring our Under-19 team to the top-notch facilities in Loughborough once more, as well as the chance to participate in this Youth ODI Tri Series.

The team we have chosen has a solid mix of experience; half of the players participated in our most recent and victorious Under-19 World Cup in January, while the other half advance to this level as a first step toward the 2026 Under-19 World Cup.

A few players have also participated in senior inter-provincial cricket this season, and several more were part of Emerging Ireland's stunning victory over the West Indies Academy in the summer. Most of the team has participated in our Future Series competition, either with the Academy or in their own provinces. These kinds of demanding experiences that surpass their age groups will undoubtedly inspire confidence in our players.

We will have excellent benchmarking opportunities with this series we're entering, and it provides solid linkage to performance on the global stage. It will serve as a springboard for some players as they prepare for the upcoming World Cup by highlighting areas for growth and qualities that they can build upon during the winter. Everyone is anticipating the start of the series with excitement.
