On the foundation of their massive first-innings lead, Jharkhand blasted into the Ranji Trophy 2022-23 quarterfinals. With Kumar Kushagra's 266, Shahbaz Nadeem's 171 - his second first-class tonne and best score in the Ranji Trophy, Virat Singh's 107, and No. 11 batter Rahul Shukla's 86, they achieve a mammoth total of 880.

Despite Chetan Bist's 122, Nagaland was unable to respond, surrendering for only 289 runs. Jharkhand then elected to bat again, adding on more agony with their run-scoring, with Anukul Roy seizing the opportunity to become Jharkand's second century in the match.

Jharkhand started the day on 132 for 2, with a lead of almost 700 runs. They had the option of declaring and pushing for a win, but they opted to bat on. Jharkhand added 285 runs on the last day thanks to Roy's 153-ball knock, which included 14 fours and seven sixes. Nagaland managed to take six wickets, but only after conceding 417 runs on yet another day of arduous bowling.
