Meso’s Masterclass with the Bat

Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Steyn City School capitalized on the opportunity, with Meso leading from the front. She shared a crucial 111-run partnership with captain Diara Ramlakan (35), ensuring that her team posted a formidable total. Saints Christian School bowlers struggled to contain the aggressive batting display, but seam bowler Siphumelele Duma managed to claim a wicket, capping off a fantastic individual campaign. Saints Christian School’s Struggles in the Chase

Chasing a challenging target of 179, Saints Christian School needed a solid start, but Steyn City’s disciplined bowling attack made sure they were always on the back foot. The batting side never managed to gain momentum, losing wickets at regular intervals.

For Steyn City, Sivaakani Naidoo was the standout bowler, taking 4/26 in a match-winning spell that ripped through Saints’ middle order. Olivia Marais also impressed, picking up 2/21 to add to Saints’ woes. Their disciplined bowling and sharp fielding ensured that Saints Christian School was restricted to 117/9 in their 20 overs, falling well short of the target.
