Australian Bowler Andrew Tye was signed by the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) as a replacement for injured Mark Wood, who has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League 2022 due to an elbow injury. This injury occurred during England's first Test against the West Indies earlier this month.

Tye has a total of 47 wickets in 32 T20Is for Australia. He has taken 40 wickets in 27 IPL games

Reports say Lucknow Super Giants has approached Bangladesh Cricket Board to sign Taskin Ahmed for the IPL 2022 season. But his NOC was denied by BCB due to Bangladesh's hectic schedule.

Previously, Pacer Blessing Muzarabani was expected to be the lone Zimbabwean in the Indian Premier League's 2022 edition (IPL 15). The right-arm pacer will join the Lucknow Super Giants camp as a net bowler.

Brendan Taylor was the last Zimbabwean player to participate in the IPL before Blessing Muzarabani. The Sunrisers Hyderabad released Taylor prior of the 2015 edition of the tournament. Ray Price (Mumbai Indians) and Tatenda Taibu (Kolkata Knight Riders) are two more Zimbabweans who have previously participated in the event.
