New Delhi, August 20, 2024: In the Adani Delhi Premier League T20, East Delhi Riders prevailed once more on Tuesday at Arun Jaitley Stadium, thanks to a rain-shortened game. In the tournament's sixth encounter, the East Delhi Riders defeated Purani Dilli 6 by five wickets thanks to Mayank Rawat's 2/15 with the ball and his scorching 55 off 27 balls with the bat.
East Delhi Riders took 16 overs to reach the mark after Purani Dilli 6 scored 142/8 in their allotted 18 overs.
Due to a delayed start caused by a wet outfield, Purani Dilli 6 set a target of 143 for East Delhi Riders on a challenging batting ground, resulting in the match being truncated to 18 overs.
Nine overs later, Purani Dilli 6 were suffering at 64/7 after Harsh Tyagi struck twice in the ninth over, taking off Vansh Bedi (9 off 16) and impact substitute Arnav Bugga (11 off 11).
After that, Yug Gupta and Mayank Gusain approached the innings cautiously. They gradually increased the team's total to 100 runs in the fifteenth over, scoring 20 runs, two sixes, and a four.
Gusain, who was dismissed in the final over, made 35 off 33 in their crucial partnership of 70 runs, and Yug Gupta, who did not lose, made 34 off 22 to lead the side to 142/9 in 18 overs.

East Delhi Riders got off to a steady start, but at the end of the powerplay, they were at 38/1 after Sujal Singh (18 off 14) was dismissed. The East Delhi Riders faltered despite their perfect chase in the previous game, losing two vital wickets in the sixth over as Shivam Sharma trapped Anuj Rawat (18 off 17) and Pranav Pant (1 off 2) leg before wicket. East Delhi Riders were struggling at 47/4 when Yug Gupta removed captain Himmat Singh (6 off 9) in the eighth over, adding to the mounting pressure.
The squad then reached the 100-run mark in the 12th over thanks to some much-needed solidity from Mayank Rawat and Hardik Sharma. Nevertheless, after scoring 25 0ff 19 balls in one over, Sharma was removed from the game, leaving the East Delhi Riders requiring 41 runs from the next five overs.
With two overs remaining, Rawat then grabbed control as his late assault enabled East Delhi Riders to win their second straight game of the season.
The bowlers for the East Delhi Riders ran wild earlier in the day, giving Purani Dilli 6 a dismal start. They were 46/5 at the end of the 5-over powerplay. In the second over, Simranjeet Singh took the first wicket, trapping Arpit Rana (10 off 5) leg before wicket. In the fourth over, he removed two more wickets, Manjeet (15 off 8) and Keshav Dalal (0 off 1). After that, Mayank Rawat started his stint with two wickets, getting rid of captain Lalit Yadav (0 off 2) and Sanat Sangwan (13 off 8).
