MI Cape Town Stars Shine in Betway SA20 Team of the Season

The Betway SA20 Team of Season 3 has been announced, and champions MI Cape Town (MICT) dominate the XI with five players making the cut. Led by Aiden Markram, the squad features a mix of top performers from Sunrisers Eastern Cape (SEC), Paarl Royals (PR), and Joburg Super Kings (JSK).

MI Cape Town's Commanding Presence

MICT’s Ryan Rickelton, Dewald Brevis, George Linde, Kagiso Rabada, and Trent Boult earned their places in the best XI, reflecting their team's dominance in SA20 Season 3.

Ryan Rickelton finished as the leading run-scorer in SA20 history, amassing 336 runs at an average of 48 with a strike rate of 178.82.

Dewald Brevis proved his class with 291 runs at 48.5, striking 211 against pacers and 149 against spinners.

George Linde impressed with both bat and ball, averaging 40.24 with a strike rate of 153.33, and picking up 11 wickets at an economy of 6.29.

Kagiso Rabada and Trent Boult were outstanding with the new ball. Rabada picked up 12 wickets, while Boult’s 2/9 in the final earned him the Player of the Final award.

Sunrisers Eastern Cape & Paarl Royals Secure Key Spots

SEC and PR each contributed three players, highlighting their strong seasons.

Aiden Markram, the captain, led SEC to their third consecutive SA20 final, scoring 340 runs.

Marco Jansen, the Player of the Season and Best Bowler, took 19 wickets at 18.42.

Richard Gleeson provided vital breakthroughs, forming a lethal pace duo with Jansen.

Joe Root, despite missing the playoffs, contributed 279 runs and took five wickets.

David Miller provided middle-order stability with 234 runs at an average of 58.50.
