100% Cricket Podcast is a new initiative, started on 25-07-2022 as a part of the “ICC’s 100% Cricket Year of Women’s Cricket”

What is “ICC’s 100% Cricket Year of Women’s Cricket”-

It is a campaign brought forward by the ICC to show that men and women are treated equally in this beautiful sport. Many fans have thrown allegations that gender equality is not prioritised in Cricket. This initiative might prove those critics wrong. It is the first big step taken by the ICC who are working in collaboration with the UNICEF to promote and create equal opportunities for women as well. 

3 Big Stars with initial support:

1. Mithali Raj (Former Indian captain who  played between 1999-2022) 

2. Isa Guha (Former English cricketer and currently a commentator)

3. Frances Mackay (New Zealand cricketer who is currently playing for New Zealand Women and Canterbury Women) 

These three Women superstars featured in the premiere episode of this 100% Cricket Podcast. 

In this podcast Mithali rates the 18 year old “Shafali Verma” as the “complete player”. 

Also, Mithali added that she would love to participate in the most anticipated first edition of Women’s IPL. Her exact words were,

“It would be lovely to be part of the first edition of the Women’s  IPL” She also added that,

“I’m keeping that option open, I have not yet decided. There are a few more months to go before the women’s IPL happens”

What can you expect in this first episode of the podcast?

⁃ In this episode Mithali talks about a switch that she made with her bat [she changed from 1.5 kg to 1.1 kg ]

⁃ She speaks about what can people expect in her autobiography 

⁃ Also, she speaks about why “Sabaash Mithu” [Biopic on Mithali Raj] is important for the promotion of women’s cricket as well as how far Indian cricket on women are evolved today.
