MIW Crush UPW with a Dominant Chase in WPL 2025
MIW continued their winning momentum with an authoritative 8-wicket victory over UPW in the 11th match of the WPL 2025 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. Led by Nat Sciver-Brunt’s brilliant unbeaten 75 and Hayley Matthews’ explosive 59, MIW chased down 143 in just 17 overs, further cementing their dominance in the tournament.

UPW Struggles to Build Momentum
Batting first after losing the toss, UPW had a shaky start. Kiran Navgire fell early, and despite a valiant effort from Grace Harris, who smashed 45 off 26, UPW struggled to build a solid partnership. Vrinda Dinesh added 33 off 30, but with MIW bowlers keeping a tight grip, the scoring rate remained under pressure.
Deepti Sharma, leading from the front, managed 4 off 6 before being caught by Harmanpreet Kaur off Hayley Matthews. Shweta Sehrawat (19 off 13) and Chinelle Henry (7 off 8) tried to accelerate, but wickets at regular intervals stifled UPW’s momentum. Sophie Ecclestone contributed 6 before falling to Shabnim Ismail, who bowled exceptionally well, picking up two crucial wickets.

Sciver-Brunt, on the other hand, played a flawless innings, finishing unbeaten on 75 off just 44 deliveries, striking at an exceptional rate of 170.45. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur provided the finishing touch with an unbeaten 10, sealing the win with three overs to spare.
