Mominul Haque Showrabh quits his test captaincy today. At the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui, Bangladesh begun the year with a victory over Tom Latham's New Zealand. However, the Tigers have failed to perform under his guidance since then. Following that, defeats against Sri Lanka and South Africa did not assist to regain his position. Mominul's batting skills have also declined rapidly. The left-handed batsman said that his lack of form makes leading Bangladesh at the top level more difficult.
Mominul has scored 912 runs in 17 Tests as captain, at an average of well over 31. Bangladesh won three of 17 Tests under Mominul Haque, losing 12 and drawing two.
