Daniel Sams win it for Mumbai Indians with his excellent final over! Tewatia and Miller are at the crease, with Rashid Khan to follow in the last over. Mumbai had the odds stacked against it. Sams, on the other hand, backed up his slower balls and pulled off a heist on Gujarat Titans. The last over ended with a figure of 1 0 W1 1 0 0. Gujarat openers got their side off to a terrific start as they chased 178. In the first five overs, Saha was the aggressor, even hitting Mumbai's spearhead, Bumrah. In the following five overs, Gill, who was content to play secondary role, raised the tempo. The table-toppers were cruising after both of them achieved their respective half-centuries.
In the 13th over, Murugan Ashwin dismissed both openers in the span of six deliveries. The asking rate was never very high, but the GT hitters made a few rookie blunders. Pandya did not dive and ran himself out after Sai Sudharsan dismissed him hit-wicket. However, they were unable to score 9 tonight.
Gujarat Titans have lost two games in a row and are yet to secure a playoff spot. The Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, have won two straight games and are in contention for the playoffs.
Earlier in the innings, Rohit looked threatening as he got off to a fast start in the powerplay. When Rohit and Ishan did a firey start, 200 seemed quite probable, but kudos to the Gujarat Titans bowlers, particularly Rashid Khan, who was outstanding once again to dismiss MI Skipper Rohit Sharma in LBW to end the innings. MI lost their form in the middle overs, as a pair of soft dismissals - Surya Kumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan - slowed the pace. Rashid returned to deliver a magnificent over to remove Pollard, but Tim David's 21-ball 44 ensured that MI reached par on this pitch.
