Netherlands hopes to take part in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 remain strong | NED vs OMA, CWC 2023

Oman had given the Netherlands the opportunity to bat, and the opening pair of Singh and Max O'Dowd made a methodical start, including sitting through a rain delay that reduced the game to 48 overs per side.

Before O'Dowd was bowled by Ayaan Khan for 35, finishing the partnership at 117, the pair's century partnership had been reached off 103 balls.
Before being bowled out holing out to mid-on after making 110 with 11 fours and two sixes, Singh kept up his momentum as he achieved his first ODI century off 102 balls.

When Kaleemullah caught Scott Edwards for four runs, he was unable to add to his three consecutive scores of 67 and became Mohammad Nadeem's second wicket.

Bas de Leede accelerated his team's scoring by scoring 39 runs in a flash from 19 pitches as the Netherlands looked to increase their net run rate.

Wesley Barresi quickly accelerated to 97 from 65 balls after reaching his half-century off 43 balls before being caught behind painfully close to a century.
Oman attempted a mini-comeback, but they were unable to stop the Netherlands from reaching 362 for seven. Barresi was the first of three wickets in three overs.

Jatinder Singh was run out on 17 before fellow opener Kashyap Prajapati left for 25 in the process of what would have been their record-breaking chase, leaving Oman at 78 for three.

After Aryan Dutt dismissed Mohammad Nadeem for 16, Ayaan Khan and Shoaib Khan recovered, adding 112 runs for the fifth wicket, but they were unable to prevent their team from slipping far behind the needed run rate.

Ayaan Khan needed 84 balls to get his century; however, he received a few lucky breaks along the way because he was dropped three times in the beginning of his innings.

The game was prematurely halted by bad lighting with Oman 74 runs from their DLS target, and the all-rounder was present for the conclusion.

Though Netherlands need Zimbabwe to lose to Scotland and win their final game in order to stand any hope of qualifying, the competition for the second qualification slot will now come down to the wire.

Now, the Netherlands must wait anxiously to learn whether Zimbabwe defeats Scotland tomorrow before facing Scotland on Thursday.

Netherlands 362/7 in 48 overs (Vikramjit Singh 110, Wesley Barresi 97; Bilal Khan 3/75, Mohammad Nadeem 2/36)
Oman 246/6 in 44 overs (Ayaan Khan 105 not out, Shoaib Khan 46; Aryan Dutt 3/31, Ryan Kelin 2/34)
