Pakistan vs Bangladesh T20I Series 2025: PCB Confirms Revised Schedule for Lahore Showdown
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially released the revised schedule for the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh, with all matches now set to be played under lights at the iconic Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore from 28 May to 1 June 2025. The adjustment in dates comes after logistical alignments between the two cricket boards and provides both teams a sharper window to fine-tune their squads ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup later this year.
With evening matches scheduled at 8:00 PM local time, fans can expect electrifying cricket under the lights as both nations aim to make a strong impression ahead of the global stage.
Gaddafi Stadium to Host Full T20I Series
As per the revised announcement, Pakistan and Bangladesh will contest all three T20 internationals in Lahore, ensuring consistent conditions and strong local attendance. The series will open on Wednesday, 28 May, followed by the second game on Friday, 30 May, and the finale on Sunday, 1 June.
This condensed yet intense three-match series is set to draw large crowds, especially with summer cricket fever gripping the subcontinent. With all games scheduled in the evening, players are expected to benefit from cooler conditions and high-octane crowd support at Gaddafi Stadium, a venue steeped in cricketing history.
Bangladesh to Arrive in Lahore on 25 May
According to the PCB, the Bangladesh team will land in Lahore on 25 May, with training sessions planned for 26 and 27 May at the stadium facilities. These two practice days will allow the visitors to acclimatize to the conditions and strategize against a young yet formidable Pakistan side.
The arrival window will also provide opportunities for both sides to engage in final match simulations and fielding drills essential in the lead-up to high-pressure bilateral T20 contests.
A Crucial Series Ahead of the T20 World Cup
While the series is only three matches long, its timing could not be more critical. With the ICC T20 World Cup just around the corner, this series offers both Pakistan and Bangladesh the platform to test new combinations, assess bench strength, and identify roles for fringe players.
For Pakistan, this series will mark Salman Ali Agha’s continued leadership stint, alongside head coach Mike Hesson, who is embarking on his first series at the helm. The new coaching leadership brings strategic sharpness and long-term vision to the table. On the other hand, Bangladesh will look to gain rhythm and confidence after a challenging year of white-ball performances.
Both teams are expected to bring near full-strength squads, and with Gaddafi Stadium’s sporting pitch, fireworks with both bat and ball are guaranteed.
PCB Confident of Delivering a High-Quality Series
In their official release, the PCB emphasized the importance of the series in terms of international relations and sporting excellence. Hosting Bangladesh is also a reflection of Pakistan’s growing stature as a reliable international venue, especially after successfully conducting multiple home series over the past few seasons.
The board has also reaffirmed its commitment to providing world-class infrastructure and fan engagement throughout the series. With improvements in digital ticketing, security arrangements, and in-stadium entertainment, the Lahore crowd is expected to witness a celebration of T20 cricket at its finest.
Beyond the cricketing aspect, this series also strengthens PCB’s strategic roadmap for consistent international fixtures at home, reinforcing its position on the global stage ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025, which Pakistan is scheduled to co-host.
Spotlight on Stars and Strategy
With many players returning from the HBL PSL and other global leagues, eyes will be on who can cement a spot in the national setup. For Pakistan, the form of Saim Ayub, Naseem Shah, Shadab Khan, and Mohammad Haris will be closely monitored. Similarly, Bangladesh will rely heavily on experienced hands like Shakib Al Hasan, Liton Das, and Mustafizur Rahman to lead from the front.
This series could also throw up new heroes from both sides, especially from the emerging player pools. With just days left until the first ball is bowled, team analysts, coaches, and selectors will be watching every detail with intense focus.
