Cummins cyclone hit Mumbai right from head to toe and paralysed it. Is it possible to hit 56 runs from 15 balls? Your common sense may say 'NO', but Cummins will say 'Yes'! Call it a crazy knock or brutal assassination, Cummins played some unbelievable cricket against Mighty Mumbai Indians yesterday to join the fastest fifty in the history of IPL along with KL Rahul.
This is the first and final investigation report on the merciless murder of three bowlers by him.
Back in the time travel, one can view how Cummins balls were targeted and runs were mounting for Mumbai's side. With the worst economy of 12.2, he turned out to be a big villain in the IPL show for KKR. But time did not freeze at that moment, later he became their hero. Mumbai could have buried the bowler Cummins, but BUTCHER CUMMINS came back even more powerful to insert some haunting memories into Mumbai's brains.
Mumbai might leave out the shy of relief when the ever menacing Russell had his farewell in Tymal Mills' ball. But when the real danger entered homicide, Rohit and co became breathless. It was not Wankhede, the batting paradise. Cummins set foot on the field in which the batsmen from both sides were struggling hard to score. But for Cummins, it was like a cakewalk or Moonwalk. When he came in, the game was not out of their control, they were not fighting for Life. KKR needed 62 runs from 41 balls. They had enough overs to accomplish but Cummins wanted to finish it quicker.
MI thought they had turned the tide already with Russell's wicket, but everything started to change in the blink of an eye. A boundary and a sixer at the last two balls of that over was like an act of revenge for Russell. It inaugurated the hunt for the tiger. From there on, like a ferocious beast with bloodthirst, he was tearing off the bowling department of the opposition, without any mercy.
After Mills, it was Bumrah, a T20 specialist who became his victim. Rohit had given him only one over in the first 12 overs, with the hope to trouble the batsmen, at the end with his 3 over spell. But Bumrah didn't have to bowl his full quota as Cummins completed everything even before that. Cummins sliced the ball to sixer in the cow corner to thunderstruck the crowd. In the very next ball, Bumrah's special Wide Yorker felt bad about its fate, while rushing towards the boundary line. Bewildered Bumrah was sent back with a heavy heart.
The first two shows were like trailers of the horror show but the real slaughter occurred in the Daniel Sams' over. Cummins cyclone starts hitting Mumbai harder. As a monster, he started his hunting to satiate its hunger. The missed Yorkers in the first two balls' destiny decided to stay away from him beyond the boundary line. The next set of back to back sixers scripted the most horrible moments of MI's IPL history. Rohit, his men and the total crowd was flabbergasted with this fast and furious innings which was filled with fours and sixes.
The 14 balls fifty astonished the entire stadium. He was like a typhoon in a nutshell. Mumbai did not have a solution to tackle that tornado and it surrendered totally. The sixer in the last ball of the innings brought 35 runs in that over for Sams, which is the third costliest over in the IPL's history.
93% of Cummins' runs in this innings came from big shots and he joined KL Rahul for the fastest fifty in IPL's track record.
Cummins's brutal hits were not just aimed at the target. Whenever a bowler's ego is disturbed, that will awaken the devil inside him which will look for ways to avenge its revenge. Pollard hit 23 runs in Cummins over and Mumbai's grounds shook when he had given it back. This is not the first time he is doing this. Last year, CSK had hit him hard with a bat to score 220 runs. Cummins gave away 58 runs in four overs. But when he came back to bat, he staged absolute madness. It was a wild innings and he hit 66 runs in 34 balls and stood there till the last, without giving away his wicket just like in this match.
Even in that match, he hit 4 boundaries and 6 sixers exactly like this match, with only two differences. That day his strike rate was 194 and against MI it was unbelievably 373. That day he couldn't help the team sink but in this match, he did it all alone. His last three innings against MI 33(12), 53(36), and 56(15) showed how he is a dominating killer for MI bowlers.
Thus the report concludes that ruthless Cummins is the brutal murderer of bowlers and he can sweep the opposition all away.
