Originally planned for Multan, the series featuring Pakistan, New Zealand, and South Africa will now serve as a test for the upgraded facilities. Upgrades at Gaddafi Stadium

Gaddafi Stadium, one of Pakistan’s most renowned cricketing venues, is undergoing extensive renovations to elevate the match-day experience for all stakeholders. The spectator capacity has been increased to 35,000, with modern chairs installed throughout the stadium for enhanced comfort. To improve broadcast quality, 480 state-of-the-art LED lights have been added, significantly boosting LUX levels for global audiences.

Additionally, two massive digital replay screens are being installed, measuring 80 feet x 30 feet and 22 feet x 35 feet, ensuring fans enjoy superior visual clarity. The stadium also features a brand-new players’ and officials’ hospitality enclosure, set to be operational by 25 January 2025. The Gaddafi Stadium will officially reopen in the last week of January, showcasing its state-of-the-art facilities.

Upgrades at National Bank Stadium

The National Bank Stadium in Karachi has also undergone major upgrades. A new hospitality enclosure for players and officials has been created at the University End, further enhancing the venue’s functionality. For better broadcast visibility, 350 LED lights have been installed, while two digital replay screens are already in place. Additionally, 5,000 new chairs have been added to improve the spectator experience.

These improvements ensure the National Bank Stadium meets international standards and is ready to host top-tier cricketing events.

Upgrades at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium

Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium is undergoing smaller but impactful enhancements, including the installation of 10,000 new chairs, upgrades to hospitality boxes, and the addition of two digital replay screens. These updates are designed to ensure that the stadium is ready for future international matches, meeting the expectations of fans and players alike.

Playing Surfaces Maintenance

Under the guidance of renowned curator Tony Hemming, PCB curators have worked tirelessly to maintain the quality of outfields and pitches across all upgraded venues. Despite extensive construction activities, the playing surfaces have been kept in pristine condition, with no competitive cricket being played at Gaddafi Stadium and National Bank Stadium since the commencement of renovations. Rawalpindi last hosted a match late last year, ensuring the surfaces remain fresh and protected.
