Ramandeep Singh: KKR’s All-Round Weapon for TATA IPL 2025

Power-Hitter Turned Strike Bowler Aims for Glory

Kolkata, February 20, 2025 – As the TATA IPL 2025 season approaches, Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) all-rounder Ramandeep Singh is set to make a significant impact not just with the bat but also with the ball. Fresh from his stellar performance in TATA IPL 2024, where he played a key role in KKR’s title-winning campaign, Ramandeep is now focusing on evolving into a bowling asset for the team.

In a candid conversation on Knight Live Adda, the 27-year-old all-rounder reflected on his journey, aspirations, and his recent debut for India in November 2024. His transition into a dual-threat player is fueled by an impressive outing in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where he picked up five wickets at an economy rate of 8.10 in seven matches for Punjab.

“The conversation from TATA IPL 2024 was that the coaching staff have the same expectations from my bowling as they had from my batting. A couple of impactful overs in the middle of the bowling innings will be very important for the team. So, I am working on the same. I want to win games as a bowler,” Ramandeep stated.

His retention by KKR in the mega auction highlights the franchise’s trust in his evolving skill set. During TATA IPL 2024, he proved his mettle as an explosive middle-order batter, scoring 125 runs at a blistering strike rate of 201.61. His performances not only played a crucial role in KKR’s championship victory but also earned him a place in the Indian T20I squad against South Africa later that year.

“I am extremely grateful to have made my debut for India. I have worked hard to reach this position in my career, and now, I am reaping the fruits of my efforts. It is a dream come true to get retained in a mega auction. Looking forward, my attempt will be to give my 100% to the team once again,” Ramandeep added.

For Ramandeep, Eden Gardens is more than just a home ground it’s a fortress where the energy of KKR’s passionate fans drives him forward. “We have the most wonderful fans at the Eden Gardens. Their support and their chants ensure that I have a very special connection with them. I am looking forward to entertaining the fans and making them proud once again,” he shared.

As KKR gears up to defend their title, their season opener against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at Eden Gardens on March 22 will set the stage for another thrilling campaign. With Ramandeep evolving into a true all-rounder, KKR’s chances of securing back-to-back titles look stronger than ever.
