The streets of Bengaluru turned into a sea of red on Monday as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) hosted their highly anticipated RCB Unbox Event 2025 at the iconic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Despite being a weekday, thousands of RCB’s devoted 12th Man Army braved the scorching sun to witness their beloved stars in action, turning the event into a grand cricketing carnival.

RCB Unbox: A Unique Experience for Fans

RCB Unbox is an initiative designed to bring fans closer to their favorite cricketers while delivering top-tier entertainment. The 2025 edition exceeded expectations, with an electrifying mix of cricket, music, and fan engagement.

The event kicked off with an open training session, where RCB legend Virat Kohli sent the crowd into raptures with a barrage of sixes into the stands. The excitement only grew as the evening progressed, with a series of fun challenges showcasing RCB’s firepower.

One of the standout moments was Nuwan Thushara’s pinpoint yorker that shattered the stumps, a testament to the Sri Lankan pacer’s skills. Moments later, Romario Shepherd flexed his power-hitting ability, launching two enormous sixes out of the stadium, igniting wild cheers from the passionate crowd.

Rajat Patidar Unveiled as RCB Captain

Led by newly appointed skipper Rajat Patidar, the entire RCB squad took a lap of honor, acknowledging their loyal fan base for their unwavering support. The team was then introduced on stage, with thunderous applause reserved for Kohli and Patidar.

Patidar, who officially received the captain’s plaque from Kohli, expressed his gratitude for the fans' acceptance of him as RCB’s new leader.

“RCB is one of the biggest franchises in the world, and I have the best people around me. Thank you for giving me this opportunity, especially the fans, for showing so much love. I’ll make sure we do our best and give our everything,” said Patidar.

Kohli, the highest run-scorer in IPL history, spoke about his excitement for the new season:

“It feels amazing to be back in this amazing city with these amazing fans. The excitement and happiness for this season are as high as ever. I’ve been here for 18 years, and I absolutely love it. We have an amazing squad this time around, with a lot of talent. I’m personally very excited to get going for the season ahead.”

Musical Extravaganza Caps Off the Evening

After the cricketing spectacle, fans were treated to an energetic musical performance by Hanumankind, one of India’s top rappers. The evening concluded with Australian DJ Timmy Trumpet, who sent the crowd into a frenzy with his high-octane beats.
