Demand for the BLACKCAPS' Test series against England is setting new box-office records.
Ticket sales for the three Tests have been exceptional, far surpassing those for last summer’s series against Australia. The second Test at the Cello Basin Reserve is particularly popular, with only 800 tickets left for the second day. Interest in the first Test at Hagley Oval is also strong, with more than half of the tickets for the first four days already sold.
The third Test at Seddon Park is also receiving significant support.
NZC's Marketing and Communications GM, Stacey Geraghty, noted that overall ticket demand for the series is three times higher than last summer’s Tests, marking the strongest demand in at least a decade.
“We’ve sold around 30,000 tickets in the first week, compared to 10,000 by this time last summer,” Geraghty said.
"Our advice is to buy tickets quickly to avoid missing out.
“We’ve been seeing increasing interest in BLACKCAPS fixtures over the past few years, but demand for this series has surged, largely due to the huge viewership on TVNZ last summer."
Geraghty added that full stadiums create a special atmosphere for both players and fans.
“With more packed venues, Kiwi fans can look forward to the thrilling experience of an England series.
Fans can get a 15% discount on adult tickets by joining NZC’s free members club, Cricket Nation. General ticket sales will begin on October 1.
Note: Day five tickets are only released if needed after the fourth day.
