Resilient East Delhi Riders beat North Delhi Strikers by four wickets to reach | Adani Delhi Premier League T20 Final

In a rain-shortened Adani Delhi Premier League T20 semi-final at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Friday, East Delhi Riders defeated North Delhi Strikers four wickets thanks to a late attack from Harsh Tyagi and Kavya Gupta.

In the summit match on Sunday, East Delhi Riders will now take against the victors of the second semi-final between Purani Dilli 6 and South Delhi Superstarz.

The match was shortened to 18 overs each side after a 1.5-hour delay, and North Delhi Strikers scored 173/4. Harsh Tyagi's unbeaten 43 off 17 helped East Delhi Riders chase down the mark in 17.3 overs in response.

The East Delhi Riders got off to a quick start in their 174-run chase. Following a bright start, Anuj Rawat went out of the game in the second over, scoring 18 off of 9.

After he was bowled out in the fifth over by Sujal Singh (13 off 11), East Delhi Riders were at 54/2 at the end of the Powerplay.

After taking out Singh, Siddhartha Solanki took two more wickets in the next overs. After 10 overs, he quickly dismissed East Delhi Riders captain Himmat Singh (27 off 18) and Hardik Sharma (14 off 13), bringing the team's total down to 91/4.

After that, Suyash Sharma got rid of Pranav Pant (6 off 9), giving East Delhi Riders a difficult equation to work with: 71 runs from 36 balls.

With his second wicket of the game, Pranshu Vijayran removed Mayank Rawat (18 off 13), giving North Delhi Strikers a decisive lead.

But in the next overs, Impact Sub Kavya Gupta (25 off 15) and Harsh Tyagi battled back. In Solanki's fourth over, they hammered up to 22 runs, cutting the deficit to 21 needed off the 12 balls. With three balls remaining, the pair eventually succeeded in chasing down the target, advancing their team to the DPLT20 inaugural final.

Sarthak Ranjan and Vaibhav Kandpal, the openers for North Delhi Strikers, set the team up for success early in the match by hammering 58 runs in the five-over Powerplay.

When Mayank Rawat removed Ranjan (30 off 23) in the seventh over, the East Delhi Riders made a much-needed breakthrough. After taking two fast wickets in the next overs, Harsh Tyagi put North Delhi Strikers at 86/3 after ten overs. Yash Dabas (2 off 5) and Kandpal (39 off 26) were taken out by Tyagi.

North Delhi Strikers, led by Yajash Sharma's quick scoring, reached the 100-run milestone in 11.4 overs. He finished the 13th over with a blistering 34 off 16 balls.

Then, in 16.1 overs, Vaibhav Rawal (29 off 20) and Yash Bhatia (32 off 18) teamed to propel North Delhi Strikers over the 150-run threshold. The North Delhi Strikers were able to register 173/4 in the allotted 18 overs thanks to their 58-run partnership off 31 balls.
