Prominent auctioneer to preside over proceedings as teams complete their squads
September 19, Thursday: He's back!
For the Season 3 player auction, which will take place in Cape Town on October 1, Betway SA20 is excited to announce the return of legendary auctioneer Richard 'The Hammerman' Madley.
Prior to the start of South Africa's premier T20 cricket league on January 9, 2025, clubs will be finalizing their squads, and Madley's experience and distinctive approach will once again take center stage.
"I'm ecstatic to be leading the Betway SA20 Season 3 player auction once again," Madley remarked. "We had a 10-hour marathon auction in the first season, and I remember that well. It feels good to be back in control of the proceedings and to use my gavel to place some big bets."I anticipate some fierce bidding when the teams finalize their squads because some fantastic local and international players have entered this auction.
After the auction registration period ended last Friday, there was a flurry of interest from both domestic and foreign players. The final roster of players available for grabs will be made public on September 25. These athletes will be added to the incredible roster of international stars, which includes, among others, Ben Stokes, Devon Conway, Joe Root, Marcus Stoinis, Jonny Bairstow, and Kane Williamson, who have committed to play in Incredible's inaugural summer.
League Commissioner Graeme Smith stated, "We're thrilled to have Richard back on board for the Betway SA20 Season 3 auction." "His passion and professionalism bring an extra layer of excitement to the auction process, and we can't wait to see the drama unfold on 1 October."
On October 1, at 16:15 SAST, SuperSport (Sub-Saharan Africa), Viacom (India), and Sky Sports (UK) will live stream the auction. Keep up with the live coverage on all Betway SA20 social media channels.
