Rizwan and Shadab look forward to Champions One Day Cup

Since our academy is located in this energetic city, I'm thrilled to be leading the Wolves, which is like a home team to me," adds Rizwan.

Shadab declares, "As the Panthers' captain, I'll do everything in my power to foster an environment where the players thrive in their roles throughout the tournament."

The Wolves will be led by Muhammad Rizwan, with Misbah serving as mentor. On Thursday, September 12, at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad, the local team will play the Shadab Khan's Panthers in the tournament's opening match, hoping to start the Champions One-Day Cup off well.

The Champions One-Day Cup, a fiercely contested domestic competition, is encouraging to see emerge in Faisalabad. Since our academy is located in this energetic city, I'm thrilled to be managing the Wolves, which seems like a home team, Rizwan told PCB Digital Channel.

Rizwan anticipated that the local populace will support his squad, and this backing will be essential to the Wolves as they seek to win in their backyard.

"I feel like the local crowd will be Wolves' 12th player in the tournament, so I'm excited to see them cheer them on." We will make every effort to compete successfully in this event with the Almighty's assistance.

"Usually we don't see such a dynamic blend of the international and young players in domestic competitions and teams, but the Champions One-Day Cup stands out in this regard as all the teams have a number of international, domestic, and young players on their rosters," Rizwan said in reference to the mix of youth and experience.

Captain of the Panthers, Shadab Khan

The Panthers' captain for the Champions One-Day Cup will be Shadab Khan. Shadab, who began his career in List-A cricket in 2016, will captain the Panthers squad under the guidance of veteran Pakistani coach and spinner Saqlain Mushtaq.

"I am extremely thrilled to be playing in the Champions One-Day Cup in my hometown of Faisalabad, where my List-A career began during the 2015–16 domestic season. Returning as a more seasoned player than when I first started as a teenager will make me feel proud.

Shadab backed the notion of playing 50 overs of cricket at the beginning of a season in which Pakistan will participate in over 15 ODIs within four months, including the crucial ICC Champions Trophy 2025, while discussing the significance and timing of the Champions One-Day Cup.

"It is greatly appreciated by me that the PCB organized the Champions One-Day Cup at the onset of the domestic season, as the Pakistan team faces a very difficult white-ball challenge over the next six months." For the most part, this competition will assist players in regaining their momentum at the beginning of the season.

Shadab also knows how important it is to get off to a strong start in any event, and that was only made possible by a laid-back atmosphere that encouraged everyone to give it their all. Shadab, who is the captain of a rather youthful team, had certain ideas in mind that will help them do well in the Champions One-Day Cup.

As the Panthers' captain, I'll try my hardest to foster an atmosphere that encourages players to perform well in their assigned duties during the competition. During this event, I want to lead by example while also relieving the players of some of their strain and getting the greatest performances out of them.
