BCCI Releases Updated Schedule for India's Twenty20 International Series Against England & Bangladesh
A revised schedule for Team India's (Senior Men) 2024–25 home season was released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India on Tuesday, August 13, 2024.
The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association's repair and upgrade work in the dressing rooms has resulted in the inaugural Twenty20 International match between India and Bangladesh, which was originally scheduled to take place in Dharamsala on October 6, 2024, now taking place in Gwalior.
The Gwalior game is the first international match played at the city's brand-new stadium, the Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium. It is also the first international match played since the historic 2010 India-South Africa One-Day International, in which the great Sachin Tendulkar became the first male cricket player to score a double century in a One-Day International.
The Board also announces a change in the locations for the opening and second Twenty20 Internationals versus England. As previously announced, Kolkata will now host the first Twenty20 International rather than the second, and Chennai, which was supposed to host the first, will instead host the second. The first T20I will take place on January 22, 2025, and the second T20I will take place on January 25, 2025. The Cricket Association of Bengal was requested by Kolkata Police to alter the venue due to their previous Republic Day commitments and duties.
