The two-time ICC Event champion expresses his excitement at being named a mentor for the Stallions, a team with which he has many special memories as a player and captain.

Every match will be more exciting because, in addition to the intense battles for supremacy on the field, there will be passionate rivalries among the mentors as we try to outmaneuver one another. Malik Shoaib

The Stallions' schedule includes games against the Lions on September 13th, Wolves on September 15th, Dolphins on September 19th, and Panthers on September 21st.

The 150 greatest cricket players in the nation will compete in this recently announced competition, which takes place in Faisalabad from September 12–29.

29 August 2024, Lahore:

The Stallions will be coached by former Pakistan captain and two-time ICC Event winner Shoaib Malik in the Champions One-Day Cup, which takes place at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad from September 12–29 of next month.

The Pakistan Cricket Board presented their five champion mentors earlier this week, among them Shoaib Malik. The other four mentors, Misbah-ul-Haq, Saqlain Mushtaq, Sarfaraz Ahmed, and Waqar Younis, will unveil their side names and logos during media conferences organized by PCB in an effort to generate exposure and awareness for the Champions Cup.

One-day cricketers from 150 different countries will compete in the Champions One-Day Cup. A single-league structure will be used for this 50-over competition. All games except the Lions vs. Panthers game on September 16, which gets underway at 9.30 a.m., start at 3 p.m. Four days of playoffs will culminate in a final on Sunday, September 29.

After playing the Lions on September 13, Shoaib Malik's Stallions will play the Wolves on September 15, the Dolphins on September 19, and the Panthers on September 21.

Shoaib Malik holds the record for having one of the longest international careers, lasting nearly 20 years. He has played in 35 Tests, 287 ODIs, and 124 T20Is to date, scoring 11,867 runs and taking 218 wickets. Shoaib Malik is regarded as one of the most sought-after cricketers in franchise cricket. He participated in the 2007 and 2019 50-over World Cups, six T20 World Cups, including captaining the team in the 2007 event, and six Champions Trophy tournaments.

As a player and captain, I have many special memories of the Stallions, therefore I'm overjoyed to be joining them as a mentor. It is now an amazing opportunity to return in the capacity of a mentor. I'm sure that by sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm for the game, I can still make a big impact on the Stallion brand.

"My responsibilities as a mentor extend beyond merely offering advice from the dugout. In a few games, I'll also take the field to provide my first-hand knowledge and experience. This will help the Pakistan Cricket Board in its endeavors to close the gap between domestic and international cricket by allowing our young players to hone their abilities and improve their performance.

"I am a big supporter of the Champions Cup format because it brings together the top players from domestic cricket in a fiercely competitive, high-stress setting. Every match will be made even more exciting by the passionate rivalries among the mentors as we try to outmaneuver each other in addition to the intense battles for supremacy on the field.

"Like any other sport, cricket is a never-ending process of learning, though it can be expedited. In light of this, I am confident that the Champions Cup will greatly improve our domestic cricket system under the direction of our knowledgeable mentors, talented coaching staff, and live broadcasts. Consequently, this will develop more proficient and gifted athletes who are prepared to compete on a worldwide scale.
Naturally, such improvement won't happen right away, but if we are patient and persistent, we may accomplish our common objectives. I look forward to the media's and our devoted Stallion supporters' support throughout the Champions Cup. By working together, we can produce future champions who will honor not only the team but also our nation and region.

The following is the schedule of Stallion games, which all take place at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad and begin at 3 p.m.:

Lions vs. Stallions, Sep. 13

Wolves vs. Stallions, Sep. 15

19 September: Dolphins vs. Stallions

Panthers vs. Stallions, September 21
